Two-Step Marine Ceramic Coating System

FEYNLAB® Marine Coat is a two-step marine ceramic coating system designed for boats and watercraft operating in demanding marine environments.

The system combines a Resin Compound with a Protective Coating to create a slick, hydrophobic surface designed to provide protection and make ongoing maintenance easier.

Professional Four-Step Marine Ceramic Coating System

FEYNLAB® Hydro is a professional four-step marine ceramic coating system developed for boats, yachts and watercraft.

The system is designed to provide a combination of UV protection, chemical resistance, hydrophobic performance, gloss and surface slickness. FEYNLAB® identifies Hydro as a Pro Series system for professional installation.

At Oceanix Yacht Care, Hydro application begins with thorough cleaning, decontamination and surface preparation, with machine correction carried out where required.

01 — Hydro Resin Compound

The first stage forms the foundation of the Hydro system and prepares the surface for the subsequent coating layers. FEYNLAB® describes this stage as lightly micro-etching the surface and establishing the foundation for the coating layers that follow.

02 — Hydro Primer

The second stage contributes chemical and environmental protection within the coating system.

03 — Hydro Basecoat

The third stage builds the coating system and contributes to durability, gloss and UV protection for the underlying finish.

04 — Hydro Topcoat

The final stage creates the finished surface, contributing to the slick, glossy and hydrophobic characteristics of the Hydro system. FEYNLAB® describes the final layer as providing additional chemical resistance and hydrophobic protection.

Current FEYNLAB® Hydro instructions specify keeping the vessel out of the water for 7 days following application and avoiding chemical exposure during that period.

Oceanix will provide appropriate aftercare instructions following the coating installation.

What is FEYNLAB®?

FEYNLAB® is a range of ceramic coating and surface protection systems designed for different applications, including marine and glass protection. Oceanix Yacht Care uses selected FEYNLAB® systems for suitable marine surfaces and applications.

What FEYNLAB® coating is right for my boat?

The most suitable system depends on the vessel, the surface being protected and the condition of the existing finish. Oceanix will assess the vessel and recommend the appropriate system based on the surface and level of protection required.

Does my boat need to be polished before applying a ceramic coating?

Not necessarily, but the surface must be properly prepared. If the vessel has oxidation, staining, water spots, contamination or other surface imperfections, machine polishing or correction may be required before coating. A ceramic coating protects the surface. It does not replace proper surface restoration.

Can FEYNLAB® be applied to older boats?

Yes, provided the surface is suitable and can be properly prepared. Older gelcoat may require more extensive cleaning, decontamination, oxidation removal and machine polishing before coating.

Can you coat marine glass?

Yes. Oceanix applies FEYNLAB® Window Coating to suitable glass surfaces following professional cleaning, polishing and preparation. FEYNLAB® specifies glass as the approved surface for Window Coating.

Can you protect the inside of a yacht?

Selected interior surfaces may be suitable for FEYNLAB® Interior Ceramic, including suitable vinyl, leather, plastics and trim. Surface suitability should always be assessed before application.

Can ceramic coating prevent water spots and salt buildup?

Ceramic coatings provide hydrophobic surface characteristics that can help water and contamination release more easily. They do not eliminate the need for regular washing and maintenance, particularly in the marine environment.

How do I maintain a FEYNLAB® coated vessel?
